Advanced Mariachi de la Luna
Westminster High School Mariachi Program
An after-school course for students with at least three years of experience on their instrument. The curriculum focuses on small ensemble work, music composition, and performance. Members perform at least six after-school public concerts annually. Practice time outside of class is encouraged.
Mariachi de las Estrellas
Westminster High School Mariachi Program
An upper-level ensemble for students with at least three years of experience on violin or trumpet, and two or more years on guitar, vihuela, guitarrón, or harp. Members perform at least five after-school public concerts and five during-school performances annually. Practice time outside of class is encouraged.
Mariachi Feroz
Westminster High School Mariachi Program
A foundational-level ensemble for beginners with no prior experience necessary. Musicians can play violin, guitar, or trumpet. Instruction focuses on instrument positioning, sound production, vocal technique, music notation, creation, and performance. Students perform at two after-school public concerts and at least three during-school performances annually. Practice time outside of class is encouraged.
